The device is designed keeping in mind the requirement of stopping the loss of water/precious fluids from piping utilized in the industry. It is aimed at and gases.
Working principle:The device uses a gasket which is sandwiched between the leaking pipe and the main cylindrical cover of the device. The threads at both ends of the main cylindrical cover facilitate in tightening the two nuts (one at each end); this results in generating sufficient squeeze for the gasket as the sliders keep climbing up the machined slope. The vent valve is kept open until the nuts are tightened sufficiently to provide necessary squeeze. Nuts are provided with suitable levers for tightening purpose.
The leakage arresting gripper is a novel device that can be installed over the leaking pipe quickly and conveniently. Useful in industry ( chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas and water supply facilities). The method to arrest the leak is simple and can be carried out by a single person conveniently.
The design uses gasket sandwiched between leaking pipe and the main cover of the ‘Leakage Arresting Device’..
The benefit of the design is that it can be installed right over the leaking point. The gasket can be given required squeeze in a controlled manner by rotating the nut with levers.
Gasket material can be changed according to the compatibility with the liquid in the pipeline.

Facilitations Required
The leakage arresting gripper assembly components are not complex in nature and can be manufactured easily with locally available industrial machines. Does not require precision machinery like CNC etc.
