WPCHE developed using innovative hydroforming technique which makes them cost effective and easy to manufacture. WPCHE Cassette uses special developed corrugation design for better thermal hydraulics performance and high-pressure application. Hydroforming technique for manufacturing of WPCHE doesn't need huge infrastructure unlike die and punch technique. Compare to tubular heat exchanger and gasketed plate type heat exchanger, WPCHE has the advantages (eg. Small size, light weight, high efficiency, less cost and gasket free maintenance). Developed WPCHE compactness is 400m2/m3 with modular design scalable up to MWs range. WPCHE can endure high temperature and pressure avoiding leakage for handling toxic and radioactive coolants. WPCHE is used in oil and gas industry, refinery applications, pharmaceutical industry, chemical/petrochemical industry and nuclear industry.

Welded Plate Compact Heat Exchanger (WPHE) is special kind of compact heat exchanger which can endure high temperature and pressure avoiding leakage for handling toxic and radioactive coolants. Commercial WPHE are made by traditional cold forming (die and punch technique) which makes them costly and proprietary in nature.

The main advantages of Weld Plate Compact Heat Exchanger (WPCHE) over conventional heat exchangers are as follows:
WPCHE using innovative hydroforming technique makes them cost effective and easy to manufacture. Plate Cassettes with optimized corrugation design for better thermal hydraulics performance and high-pressure application has been developed and utilized in WPCHE. Two 1 mm thick flat plates (300 mm X300 mm) welded all around with diagonally opposite inlet and outlet tubes to make single welded plate cassette. Welded plate cassette is then sand-witched between two wire-messed thick Flanges and tightened. Welded plate cassette is then pressurized upto 300 bar to get the designed corrugation. Corrugated welded plate cassette is then assembled to make Welded plate compact HX (WPCHE) with compactness of 400 m2/m3.
