Mandate

The mandate of the division is to carry out excellent and relevant research in the area of radiation and photochemistry to obtain fundamental understanding of a chemical system, and to develop technologies for DAE and societal applications. The divisional scientists are pursuing research in the areas of Radiation Chemistry, Molecular Photochemistry and Spectroscopy, Chemical Kinetics and Dynamics in gas, liquid and interfaces, Separation Science, Nano Materials, Sensors, Radioprotectors and other related areas.

Technologies Developed

The technology was transferred to M/s. Akay Flavours & Aromatics Pvt. Ltd on 11th December 2017. The group of scientists involved in the development of the technology comprises Dr. B.G. Singh, Mr. R.P. Das, Dr. A. Kunwar and Dr. P.A. Hassan from Radiation & Photochemistry division of BARC.



(02-03-2021) Production of turmeric based neutraceutical- Turbovita


The technology was transferred to M/s Veena Industries, Nagpur on 28th july 2016 and M/s. Icecube cold storage and food process Ahmednagar on 10th April 2019. The group of scientists involved in the development of the technology comprises Dr. A. Barik, Dr. B.G. Singh, Dr. A. Kunwar and Dr. S. Adhikari from Radiation & Photochemistry division of BARC.
